GOODBYE, JULY

July was a month to be treasured. Life was lived, changes happened and things were set into motion in brand new ways. I've started a new job, managing the vintage content for a company that I'm very excited about, I'm settling into my new, Oakland based home and I am surrounded by some of the most real people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Life just fits right now! After a much needed break from blogging, I think I'm now in a place where I feel like taking the time to share parts of myself with the world again. My hope is to do this freely and without much structure, so to keep it casual, but also inspire and be inspired. While I'm looking forward to keeping this a low pressure environment for myself, I do have several goals for the month of August that I hope will influence the content on this blog….

Be transparent
Ride my bike more
Spend more time in Oakland doing things
Love & trust freely
Keep positive channels open
Take more pictures
Nurture my spirit
Be grateful everyday

Most of these are things I already do, but will strive to continue. Others, such as spending more time on my bike and with my camera, simply require maintaining balance in my life. That said, if anyone has any tips on time management, I'm open to them!

What are some of your goals for August?

  1. There really is no better feeling than wanting to be nowhere other than exactly where you are in life. I'm so happy you've found your grove in the Bay Area! And, perhaps one of my August goals needs to involve a trip to Oakland? Gasp! ;)

  2. nice, I'm there with you. minus the bike thing, I sold mine. also minus the life fitting part, because that's not quite right either...anywhos, I'm looking forward to your posts and peeks into your life and your head. This post reminds me of the one that Pussycat Vintage just wrote too, which makes me want to do the same! One thing she included on her list is not looking at or even picking up her cell while driving. I NEED to do that, especially living in the city where no one knows how to drive worth a damn.

  7. What a great list of goals. I've particularly decided to focus on being more transparent this month. I need to be more honest with myself, and more honest with those around me and it's been a real struggle but hopefully one that I'll get better at with time! Wishing you a happy August & I'm really glad to hear you're living such a fantastic life. :]

  9. so excited for your new adventures, rachel! my top goal for august is to try and not take ANYTHING for granted- being in a new city and all (and first time moving away from home), it's a hard adjustment but I came here for a reason and I can't forget that! I hope you have the best August :)

  10. Glad your back, sounds like there is a lot of newness for you, which is always great. I'm working on my August goals, I definitely want to take some day trips, exercise and get up early so my days are full. I really like your trust goal. I also like that even if you already do something you want to remember to do it and do it well
