BEAUTIFUL SOUL - OLIVIA ROSE

I'll be the first to admit that I often have a difficult time appreciating new designers. My aesthetic is vintage tried and true, albeit with my own modern twist. With an appreciation of the past and the aesthetic it encompasses comes a sense of whimsy and romance that can be imitated in modern design, but rarely duplicated to perfection.

Beautiful Soul's newest collection, Olivia Rose, has struck a chord inside of my vintage loving soul that most modern designers aren't able to evoke. Named after her maternal and paternal grandmothers and inspired by the love letters they wrote to their sweethearts during WWII, the Olivia Rose collection embraces a sense of femininity and elegance that leaves me filled with intrigue and a sense of mystery that I feel most vintage inspired collections have strived to reach, but haven't really resonated with me.

Aside from being aesthetically beautiful, this label also has a very attractive ethos. Many of the pieces utilize vintage textiles, a conscious approach to fabric sourcing and the environment that I can completely stand behind. I'm waiting with bated breath for this UK label to open their web shop or begin stocking their wares stateside.

  2. Hey Rachel - love your clothing. If you ever need some vintage eyeglasses to round out the look, come over to my place and wander around.
